The Limbo ( IPA: [lɪm.bəʊ] ; with the English. - ”Limbo”) – a multi-platform computer game in the genres of puzzle – platformer with elements of survival horror , developed by the independent Danish studio Playdead. The project was announced in 2010 for consoles Xbox 360 and released on July 21, 2010. Over the next three years, the game was ported to those platforms like the Mac OS the X , the Microsoft the Windows , the PlayStation 3 , the Linux , Vita ,iOS и Android.
Technically, the project is a 2D side-scroller that uses the physics engine the Box2D , enables you to manage objects of the environment and character. The protagonist is a little boy who is looking for his sister. The game world, which is assumed to some observers is the Catholic limb , filled with numerous traps. According to the genre affiliation, the game is a 2D platformer . As with most projects of this type, the gameplay is based on a physical interaction with the environment of the protagonist. The player can go left, right, jump, climb on a small ledge, climb up ropes or ladders, and push and pull objects. The game is made in the style of minimalism : the whole environment is shown in black and white, sometimes gray tones and ambient sounds create a feeling of persecution and anxiety [13] [14] . The average duration of the Limbo – 4:00, although some observers spent on it for three to six hours, depending on how quickly solved the puzzle [15].
Darkness hides many dangers: it can be both bear traps and various monsters, including a giant spider.
